For riding the wave of Chinese applicants to American schools.

Just over 274,000 Chinese students studied at U.S. universities and colleges in the 2013-14 academic year. But test scores notwithstanding, some haven’t arrived with the English skills they need to engage in meaningful classroom discussion. Fortunately, U.S. universities now inundated with thousands of applications from China can count on Kelly Yang and her team. Founded in early 2011, Vericant provides schools with recorded interviews and independently proctored English exam results, which enable admissions officers to separate the wheat from the chaff.
